I believe that every woman and family deserves the loving support of a doula. I offer warm, loving and consistent emotional and physical support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and your early days as a new family. My focus is on helping you cope with the intensity of labor, whether you plan to give birth in the hospital or at home, with a doctor or with a midwife, with medication or without. While healthcare providers may often have more than one patient to attend to, I will be dedicated to you.

Through guidance about nutrition, comfort measures for pregnancy and labor, and what to expect at the hospital, as well as breastfeeding education and support, my intention is to support you and be present for you in each moment. My hope is that in the years to come when you look back on the transformation of yourself into a parent, you will remember with pride the power that you found within yourself to make informed and confident decisions for yourself and your baby.

I am a certified doula through Childbirth International (CBI), and am also working towards my certification as a Birthing From Within mentor and doula. I am a certified lactation specialist and La Leche League leader. I have also been involved with ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) and Birth Action Coalition in their outreach efforts.

I have two children, one born by cesarean, and one born by VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Their births, and the extensive research I did before choosing the option to try for a VBAC, were transformative for me, and helped me realize my passion for this work.

I attend births in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
